I chose a day and time through your booking calendar, am I officially booked?
Good question! The answer is no. Using my booking calendar submits an inquiry, just like filling out my contact form submits an inquiry. A lot of the time, the day and time selected ends up being when the actual session is, but sometimes things on the client’s end or on my end require us to tweak the time or sometimes the day. For example, the client picks a time and realizes they want a sunset session instead, or the location they entered is not accessible on the day they chose. On my end, there could be a conflict with another session or a glitch where I’m out of town by my calendar didn’t block the day. Once we’ve chatted a little to clarify details, I send out a contract and invoice, and signing the contract and paying the retainer = you being officially booked!
What is a retainer?
A retainer is an amount of money paid upfront to secure services. I require this to hold your day and time just for you. Some photographers require full payment before your session, but my retainer fee is 50% before your session and the remaining balance is due after services are completed but before you receiving your gallery. Time is precious. So, in cases where I have a no-show or have a last minute cancellation, when another client could have booked at this time, this is why the retainer is non-refundable. Although you will not receive a refund on the retainer, we can reschedule at no additional cost or the balance paid can be used towards a future session.
Do you charge taxes?
Yes, I do. Taxes are charged based on your billing address, so your invoice total could be slightly less or more than someone else’s for the same exact package. Works just the same as any other shopping or services you pay for in your town VS when you’re in a different town.
Do you travel? Do you charge for it?
Yes! Locations within 25 miles are included in the cost of regular sessions. For weddings and events, locations within 50 miles is included in the cost. Beyond these limits, it is $1/mile in addition to your session/package total. Depending on how far your event/wedding is, travel fees may include lodging and airfare. This could be discussed during the planning process and added to the contract.
What forms of payment do you accept?
The invoice I send with your contract allows you to put in your credit card information to pay the invoice. I accept cash, Venmo, Cashapp, Zelle, and Paypal as well (then I can update your invoice from my end)! The retainer needs to be paid to hold your session, so sometimes cash isn’t the most convenient option.

Do you have a studio?
No, I do not have a studio. I’m mainly an outdoor and natural light photographer. In the colder months, I work in client’s homes, in airbnbs, or can rent studio space if available. If you are looking for a solid backdrop, I provide a white sheet backdrop and stand that can be set up in your home where there is ample, but indirect, natural light.
Do you do props and set ups?
Since I mainly do outdoor sessions, I don’t store props or create set ups (unless for my own events). If you’re interested in a photoshoot with a set up, that will be need to be prepared by you, or, I know of local businesses that can bring your vision to life by hiring them for their services in preparation of our session together. This can range from renting a boho chair, to a beautiful backdrop or elaborate scene!
Do you do newborn photography?
Yes! But if you are looking for studio style, whimsical outfits, and sleepy poses, this is not my style. For newborn sessions with Leanna-Marie Photography, you can expect an in-home, lifestyle session. I love this way of capturing families with their newborn because it encapsulates more of those feelings and emotions you have those first few weeks with a new baby. If you feel like your home is not photo ready, NO WORRIES! Sometimes this can be done in a single area of your home. But, if it’s just too much pressure, we can also look into using a natural light studio or a cozy airbnb.

How do I get my photos?
After some time following your session, I will deliver you a gallery with thoughtfully selected & joyfully edited photos that represent Leanna-Marie Photography‘s brand. From here, you’ll be able to select the digitals included in your package- or MORE if you just can’t help yourself! You’ll be given a unique code, and choosing your photos works like a regular shopping website. If your package included 10 digitals, you can add 10 to your cart, use your code and check out with a $0 cart total. If you wanted more than your package included, no problem! You can add additional digitals (or other items like prints!) to your cart and the total will reflect only the extras, then you check out like normal online shopping. FINALLY, you will receive an email to download the photos you selected and/or paid for. If you order any physical items, those will be delivered to wherever you selected (your home or photographer meet up/pick up).
Why do the gallery photos have your logo on them?
Don’t worry! When you get your gallery link, you’ll notice my logo on them (my watermark). Once you choose your photos and receive the email to download your high quality digitals, they will NOT have my logo across them. I watermark my photos to avoid screenshot uploads by clients or other visitors to the gallery (if the client shares the gallery) since screenshots are low quality and would not represent my work accurately. This is also why editing my photos of your session is not permitted, as it could mislead others to believe what my style is like, affecting my business.
